The Cosmic Calendar
Carl Sagan introduced the concept of "The Cosmic Calendar" If you scale down the entire history of the universe into a single calendar year, you get a much more intuitive understanding of the time-scales involved in geology and astronomy. Inspired by Sagan's idea, I have put together a more detailed version of the Cosmic Calendar that relays the history of the entire universe "in real time". Over the course of a year, tweets are sent out describing everything from the Big Bang to (in the final 14 seconds) - all of recorded human history.
The Cosmic Calendar Twitter has been running since January 1st, 2014, and I plan to keep it going every year for the foreseeable future. Although it is mostly automated, I continue to update it with more detailed explanations of major events in the history of the universe.

In January of 2015, I started a new chapter in life when I drove from New York to California over the course of 10 days. Going south to avoid possible snowstorms in the midwest and mountain states, I traversed down the east coast, across the continent, and up the coast of California. For the entire trip, I had a GoPro mounted on the dashboard, programmed to take a photo once every second, I recorded the entity of my trip, and condensed it into 2 hours at 30 frames per second. The resulting videos is really fun, albeit very long and bandwidth hogging.
At present, it is only available as a massive file download (8GB), but if you have 2 hours of free time, plenty of disk space, and the bandwidth to spare, and you really want to see the country go by at Mach 3...

I have long had an interest filming and editing videos, and have recently begun to make educational videos about various science topics, mostly related to astronomy. I would love to collaborate with someone who has knowledge of the geology of the Bay Area, and where to find interesting outcrops, or experience in film-making. The ultimate goal is to have a small series of videos covering fascinating topics in astronomy and geology. I plan to get more involved in science outreach projects though online videos like these and though in-person presentations in the Bay Area. My channel also has some time-lapse videos related from my astrophotography and landscape photography photos.
